Snowdrops

Carpets of them are around all over the place and have been for quiet a few weeks now, majesticaly nodding their heads acknowledging that spring is all but around the corner. The places they pop up are amazing never letting the quick pace of today daunt them. I saw them on the lanes near by where traffic passes and unfortunately spray their lovely white petals, but they are better in the fields and parklands. Close by we have a village and it's on a very steep hill and when approaching it the snowdrops are in abundance and over the years I can remember my mother never missed making a special visit just to sit on a bench and take in the wonderful sight.
So as you can see I'm out of hibernation, amazing what a few dainty snowdrops can do! hence I'm looking forward now to seeing all the other spring flower greeting me.
